what you will learn ✅ how to s end an ach payment (push) or request for payment (pull) you can also use the send payment endpoint to perform this task via api if you are new to ach we recommend you read the ach before starting this tutorial before you begin make sure you have cos explorer access originator details originator account number receiver details receiving bank routing number receiver account number payment amount in us dollars process overview to send an ach transaction in cos explorer, enter the originating bank account number and the required information for the account receiving the transaction a push transaction sends funds from the originator to the receiver a pull transaction sends a request for payment to the receiver to send an ach transaction a red asterisk ( ) indicates a required field go to originate payment under ach select web for the sec code value enter the cross river bank account number for the originator leave the value for override originator as the default ( no user account profile ) enter the receiver details required field description routing number routing number of the receiver's bank for example, chase's routing number is 021000021 account receiver's account number where the funds are sent or taken from transaction type push funds are sent from the originator to the receiver pull the originator requests funds from the receiver service level choose a payment type payment types regular ach payment settles within 2 business days payment types depending on the time of day sent, settles on the same day or the next day description a description of the payment using 10 characters or fewer amount the us dollar amount of the transaction click originate payment a payment details screen appears giving you information about the transaction, including status payment confirmation after originating the payment, its status changes to pending or hold for up to several hours pending tells you that the payment request is created but has not been batched for release to the federal reserve the batching process occurs several times a day hold indicates that the payment request is in review and has not yet been approved for release to the federal reserve next, the payment moves to batched status if the payment is originated close to a weekend or bank holiday, it may take a few days for the status to transition to batched when the federal reserve accepts the payment, the status changes to processing when the payment settles, the status becomes completed
