## Before you begin

Make sure you have:

- [COS Explorer access](docId\:JwSEUG3ELF_gXLhy6T9KI) 
- Account product name
- Legal first and last name of the cardholder
- The whole PAN/card number
- Card expiration month and year
- Cardholder address information

## Process overview

Create a card token for merchant use, so there is no need to store the card PAN.

## Create a card token

Go to **Create Card Token** under **Card Payments**. The **New Card Token** screen appears.

Complete the fields as indicated:

1. For **Product**, enter the name of the account product the card was created under. You can search for this.
2. For **Account Number**, enter the bank account number the card is associated with. You can search for this.
3. For the cardholder first and last name, enter the names as they appear on the account (the legal name of the account holder).
4. For the **PAN**, enter the entire number as it appears on the card.
5. Enter the card expiration date, separating the month and the year.
6. For the address, you must include the complete address including the exact street address, city, state, postal (ZIP) code and country.

Click **Save Changes**. The Card Token Details screen opens. You can fine the new card token in the card token list.
