## Before you begin

Make sure you have [COS Explorer access](docId\:JwSEUG3ELF_gXLhy6T9KI) .

## Process overview

To cancel an ACH payment, first [find the payment](docId\:mao_VwziURvXCAdtGpPOw) in the database. Check that the status is **Hold**. *Only payments on hold can be cancelled*.

## To cancel a payment

Go to the **Payment Details** page of the ACH payment you want to reverse.

Confirm that the payment status is **Hold**.

Click **Cancel Payment** in the **Payment Actions** pane.

Add a note explaining why you want to cancel the payment.

Once you cancel the payment you cannot undo the action.

Click **Submit**. The payment status changes to **Canceled**.
