Daily settlement fees breakdown
Report description
The settlement fees breakdown report helps you reconcile the network settlement fees drawn down from your COS settlement account against the original card transactions. For each fee, the report lists every transaction that contributed to it, and how much each transaction contributed.
The report covers all the settlement-related fee types charged through COS. Each row combines two kinds of data:
- Fee information from COS (columns A to N): as seen in the Daily account activity reports.
- Transaction information (columns O to AD): as seen in the Daily settlement (detailed) reports.
You receive this report using the Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), which lets you receive and send information securely. To get access, see Set up SFTP.
This report is generated automatically, and pushed to your assigned subfolder on the secure server, where you access it.
IMPORTANT SFTP must be set up before you create a request with Cross River’s support team to configure this settlement fees breakdown report. This allows the reporting team to automate the delivery of Settlement and Reconciliation reports to the appropriate folders.
Contact [email protected] if you have any issues accessing your reports.
Report distribution
Recipients include Card Payments partners only.
Delivery schedule
Item | Details |
|---|---|
Delivered | Tuesday to Saturday |
Not delivered | Sunday, Monday and banking holidays |
Content | Fees posted to your settlement account on the previous day |
Tuesday file | Fees posted on Saturday, Sunday and Monday |
Because each file covers the previous day, the fees you see in your account activity for a given date are in the next day's report. For example, fees posted on July 8 are in the report dated July 9.
Report structure
The settlement fees breakdown report filename uses this convention: PartnerName_CRB_Settlement_FeesBreakdown_YYYY-MM-DD
The report has one row for each transaction that contributed to a fee. A fee made up of 1,000 transactions takes up 1,000 rows. The fee columns (A to N) repeat on every row of that fee.
The sum of SettlementPortion (column O) for all the rows of a fee equals that fee's Amount (column N).
The settlement fees breakdown report structure includes the fields presented here.

Reconciling a fee with its transactions
To find the transactions behind a fee drawn from your settlement account:
- In your COS account activity, find the fee entry, and note its date, description and amount.
- Open the settlement fees breakdown report dated the next day. For fees posted on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, open the Tuesday report.
- Apply a filter to the report, and filter the Description field (column K) for the fee description, for example PARTNER_NAME Visa CR Fee 2026-07-08.
- Check the Amount field (column N). It shows the total amount of the fee, which matches your account activity.
- Check the SettlementPortion field (column O). It shows how much each transaction contributed to the fee. The sum of column O equals column N.
- Use the TransactionIdentifier field (column AB) to find each transaction in PTPE. You can also match transactions by RetrievalReferenceCode (column AA) and the card digits (columns T and U).
